Current Need

The Junior Systems Admin will be responsible for daily monitoring of new and on-going system vulnerabilities for Windows, Linux, VMware, and AIX. The SA will also reconcile weekly vulnerability reports to ensure reported vulnerabilities match actual state. Additionally, the SA will work closely with peers in other engineering teams to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed with respect to separation of duties. Other duties outline will include: tier 1 support of various platforms, user and password management, document maintenance, and uptime and capacity reporting.

Plan, document, and advise the ISE Systems Manager:

  • System/OSpatches/updates

  • Hardwareupdates

  • Hardwareand software end of life

  • Hardwareand software inventory

Conduct analytics:

  • Reconciliationof upstream reports (ie: vulnerability, hardware, software scans) with actualsystem states.

  • Statisticsand current status of various system metrics.

  • Uptime& capacity

Tier 1 systems support;

  • Useraccount management

  • Useraccount and role attestation

  • Passwordvault Tier 1 support

General technical writing:

  • Documentationstandardization

  • Verificationof technical documentation

  • Deprecation/updateof legacy documentation

Cross-team collaboration:

  • Act as aliaison for operational tasks interfacing with InfoSec teams.

  • Collaboratewith peers in other engineering teams (network, application, operations).

  • Work withsenior engineers to coordinate tasks, schedules, and platform outages.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years experience in network systems administration

Critical Skills

  • Knowledgeof Linux (basic: system updates, version compliance, basic technicalunderstanding, identity management)

  • Knowledgeof Windows (basic: system updates, version compliance, basic technicalunderstanding, identity management)

  • Technicalwriting/review experience

  • Basic dataanalysis experience

Additional Skills

  • Scriptingskills to ingest and process data from APIs.

  • Experiencewith data visualization platforms.

  • Experienceworking in a production data center.

  • Operationalexperience with Rapid7, Device42,Nessus, and CVSS.


4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
