We need an experienced Policy Manager to join McKesson’s Compliance, Regulatory and Ethics team (CRE). S/He will report to and work closely with the Sr. Director Compliance and Ethics Programs and will design, lead and oversee the Policy Framework and Program for McKesson’s Enterprise Compliance Regulatory and Ethics (CRE) organization. S/he will define and execute the policy life-cycle for CRE as well as develop and implement policy standards, applicability and scope. S/he is the primary policy writer and responsible for significant writing, editing and policy management. The Manager will also be responsible for day-to-day program management of various policy and policy communications projects.
McKesson enterprise policies and standard operating procedures are key components of an effective compliance program.
The manager must work with key multi-functional stakeholder teams to shape and refine the policy program strategy and implement the program tactics. S/he will proactively conduct gap analyses for corporate and business unit stakeholders to identify business risk and policy need; track policy updates consistent with the policy lifecycle and governance framework; ensure alignment with and integration across multiple US and international business units with unique operational and legal needs.
This role requires significant cross-functional collaboration and engagement, including interactions with all levels of management and employee populations such as senior leaders, steering committees, operational stakeholders and subject matter experts. The Policy Manager will need to motivate people, build consensus and achieve timely results within budget. As a policy subject matter expert on the CRE team, the manager will support other compliance SMEs and s/he must have a working knowledge of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Seven Elements of an Effective Compliance Program. S/he will also provide support to compliance professionals who manage programs and topics such as fraud and abuse, government contracts, privacy, investigations, risk assessments, training and monitoring.
In addition, this role will:
Maintainintranet policy portal (SharePoint) and ensure tools and processes areidentified, defined, and implemented with access to policy stakeholders
Researchcontent management programs, including vendor reviews, McKessonstakeholder engagement, and costs
Participateon the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) program team for policy integrationwith controls and risk assessments
8 years of experience with policy governance or equivalent work experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic knowledge in business, laws and regulationsgoverning health systems
Critical thinking required; must beable to grasp complex policy issues and communicate them toboth expert and non-technical audiences in the appropriate context
Proficient in research with regulatoryand legal contentand translation to operational need
Strong writing skills,including policy writing, are required
Available for up to 25%travel
Bachelor’s degree required; legal or paralegal training preferred
