Director, Business Development - Biopharma
The Director of Business Development for Biopharma Services is responsible for leading a team of Business Development Professionals targeting small to large size biopharmaceutical clients to advise them on their distribution and commercial strategy, as well as sell Biologics’ specialty pharmacy services in oncology, complex care, patient assistance and clinical research.
This role will lead the identification, prospecting and cultivating of new client relationships specifically with biopharma manufacturers, industry consultants and investigator networks—providing guidance and market insights to the client and presenting them with a customized Biologics pharmacy program which can optimally support the patient journey and ultimately, the biopharma manufacturer’s brand.
The candidate must possess a strong desire for continuous learning, keen financial acumen and boundless intellectual curiosity. The candidate must exhibit excellent leadership abilities and a strong will to make a positive difference in the lives of others. They are accountable for ensuring service excellence as outlined in the client’s service agreement through collaboration with operational, finance, risk & compliance and legal leadership. In this highly visible position, they will be empowered to launch and manage strategically critical client programs through the direct and indirect teams that cross multiple business lines while driving continuous improvement in processes. Key objectives are to (i) empower team members to serve as a trusted client advisor, (ii) ensure consistent team delivery in client communications, (iii) exceed client expectations while ensuring contract compliance and key performance metrics are met and exceeded (as defined in the respective service agreements), (iv) continually search for improvement in existing programs, (v) design and implement new operational programs in collaboration with other key leadership and, (vi) maintain excellent customer and partner experiences.
5 years business development experience and 2 years managerial experience
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Healthcare (Biopharma)
Demonstrated experience in Pharmaceutical sales
Strong working knowledge of contract terms, conditions, mechanisms, and procedures
Proven ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems by applying industry and customer knowledge coupled with sound judgment
Willingness to travel up to 30%
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of business development practices and procedures; Good management, communication and analytical skills.
4-year degree in Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent experience
Masters Level Degree in Healthcare or Finance (Preferred)
