The Financial Analyst provides price modeling/profitability for customer deals, financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, compliance, consulting and problem solving support to their assigned sales management teams.
Under the direction of the Regional Finance Manager:
Prices and influences profitable deals across our customer base.
Provides front-line, on-going financial recommendations to sales teams in specific financial segments such as costing & pricing computations, regional sell profit calculations/analysis, customer compliance & profitability reconciliations, and budgeting/forecasting activities.
Consults with assigned sales management teams in troubleshooting methods for resolving financial problems and in deriving more profitable and/or feasible long term financial solutions.
Contributes to building strong relationships with assigned sales teams as well as home office finance/accounting and other teams in order to optimize financial results, accurately manage budgets and accounting systems, and gain buy in and credibility for designated financial outcomes.
Performs month-end close activities related to sales and margin, including full root cause identification, variance analysis and reporting.
Provides financial and accounting support to assigned management teams in the preparation of financial statements.
Change management advocate. Works with multiple Ad Hoc modeling tools in order to run the adequate analytics to support process changes and drive financial results.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis using Excel and Access.
Responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements, operating forecasts, etc. Performs economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.
5 years accounting, finance, finance analytics or similar experience
Knowledge and experience of sales financial activities, warehouse distribution, financial and accounting systems (preferably drug distribution industry), government regulations applicable to pharmaceutical industry (OSHA, DOT, FDA, DEA, SOX, etc), financial systems/computer applications, SAP, BPC, BW COPA etc.
Knowledge of accounting principles, drug inventory and working capital management.
Microsoft Excel and Access.
Six Sigma training a plus.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems
MBA preferred in finance or related field or equivalent experience
