McKesson Global Sourcing UK Ltd (MGSUK) was established in 2017 to support with the global expansion and ongoing development of the private label sourcing strategy for the organization. MGSUK is a fully owned legal entity of McKesson Corporation that is responsible for private label sourcing including generics, OTC and medical surgical and well as clinical trial comparator sourcing.
Reporting directly to the Global Sourcing Category Manager Vitamins and OTC the Project Manager will manage and coordinate launches of NorthStar UK generic pharmaceutical products, launches of globally sourced medical surgical and para pharmaceuticals for the European affiliates and well as ad hoc project management activities for the broader team.
The Project Manager will be required to foster close working relationships with multiple departments at both local, pan-European and global levels. In addition, they may be required to provide support to the commercial leads engaging with contract manufacturers and supplier partners to ensure products are launched on time and within budget. The role involves managing multiple projects at any one time in order to support with the evolution and expansion of the global sourcing operations. The position requires strong project management, client management, interpersonal and relationship management skills, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels and ensure individuals are accountable for the tasks at hand.
Manage the introduction and the launch of new products as well as supplier switches
Develop detailed product launch plans through Microsoft Project and identify critical milestones
Establish and lead product launch teams comprising of multiple stakeholders including Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Product Quality groups and Commercial and Business Development leads to ensure alignment towards target launch dates and to ensure that project deliverables are achieved on time
Lead meetings, follow-up on action items, generate and distribute meeting minutes to all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment
Anticipate, identify, report and highlight any potential risks, issues and challenges to the project stakeholders
Recommend and implement adjustments/solutions where required
Set clear priorities to the Product Launch Teams
Establish and report metrics on progress versus targets for launch activities
Communicate project progress and metrics on product launch activities to the project stakeholders and Senior Management
Maintain accurate product pipeline database detailing anticipated launch dates
Conduct post launch project review sessions to identify key lessons learned and improvement opportunities for the launch of future products
Build/maintain effective working relationships with business stakeholders to ensure successful roll out of new products
Coordinate/support other site strategic initiatives as required
Lead continuous improvement projects
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
3-5 years’ work experience within project management roles ideally within the healthcare, medical or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries or relevant industry experience
Experience in supplier and/or customer relationship management
Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Ability to multitask and manage multiple supplier relationships
Ability to build trustful relationships internally and externally using influential skills to manage expectations
Experience in managing cross functional teams
Fact based, clear, logical communication skills with a track record of success in developing relationships
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellentorganisational and time management skills
Strong communication, presentation, written and interpersonal skills
Educated to degree level
Flexible for global travel (expected to be approximately 15%)
