Team Lead Cash Posting will be responsible for the timely and accurate posting of payments, denials and adjustments. Qualified candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer literacy, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Under the direction of the Reimbursement Manager, candidates will be responsible for insuring the team meets required goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Provide team leadership, coaching and training which includes supporting a cohesive work environment.
Lead by setting a good example.
Provide metric reporting of team activity weekly.
Identification of underpayment from insurance companies.
Trend and notify collections on appeals and rebills of denied charges, rejected claims or any other issues that affect reimbursement.
Participate in on-going database development and beta testing.
Serve as a focal point to communicate and resolve issues with other teams.
Assist team in obtaining eobs or other documentation needed via payor logins.
Assist Client Services with communication to sites.
Reconcile payment batches to deposits.
Assist with month end reconciliation.
Manage the flow of day to day operations.
Participate in employee interviews and provide feedback.
Keep the manager informed of task accomplishment, issues and status.
Maintain strictest confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
Other duties as assigned by management.
5 years work experience, medical billing and research experience required and demonstrated leadership skills and/or abilities.
3-5 years knowledge of insurance reimbursement which includes, deductibles, co-insurance, out-of-pocket, plan exclusions and prior authorization requirements.
Provides high quality service and professionalism to incoming, outgoing and interdepartmental communication.
Fluency in the English language. Must communicate efficiently and clearly, both orally and in writing.
Must demonstrate ability to work well in a team dynamic as well as independently.
Must demonstrate an understanding of reimbursement payment practices including deductibles, co-insurance and contractual discounts.
Managed care knowledge with the ability to differentiate between insurance plans such as PPO, POS, HMO, Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, etc.
Must demonstrate adaptability to handle changing priorities in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
Highly motivated and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting established deadlines.
Must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and ensure attention to detail at all times.
Excellent personal computing skills and a working knowledge of MS Office software.
Cash Posting experience is preferred.
Previous Team Lead or Supervisor experience preferred
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Excellent understanding of the A/R process. Is capable of training others and answering questions from co-workers when necessary. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior level clients, and high level of computer literacy with command of office software including excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and PowerPoint presentation. Good knowledge of healthcare, government and/or insurance industry. Group leader position, all of the skills of a level 2 employee including filling in for Supervisor in their absence. Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently and work well with others.
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
