Analyst is responsible for supporting the management of corporate credit risk by providing detailed analysis of customer financial statements and credit history. Analyst is expected to make credit decisions on trade credit up to $1.0M and recommendations to senior management for larger trade credit amounts, with some accounts around $1B. Developing and maintaining good working relationships with customers and senior level sales team is crucial to resolving sensitive issues related to credit. Ability to reach workable solutions in difficult negotiation settings is also important.
Analyze customer financials and prepare comprehensive reviews to assess credit risk profile for extension of trade credit and/or loans
Develop customer relationships to gauge management quality and resolve critical questions during financial reviews
Make credit decisions on accounts with trade credit up to $1.0M and recommendations to management for larger trade credit amounts reaching $1B
Proactively review long-term loan for compliance with terms and covenants to identify defaults/write-offs before they occur
Manage cross functional teams such as sales, finance, account managers, and accounts receivable to resolve customer disputes
Keep informed of changes in economic and/or market conditions that might affect credit risk and make recommendations to improve credit due diligence process
Ability to handle multiple projects in various stages of completion
Perform other duties as assigned
5 years credit experience, depending on area of assignment may be required to have relevant healthcare/insurance experience
4 years of financial or accounting experience and demonstrated leadership skills
4-year degree required
Knowledge and ability to analyze financial statements, tax returns and cash flow
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities accordingly
Analytical and research skills
Knowledge of accounting principles
Excellent written and verbal communication
Good organizational and presentation skills
Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Negotiation skills, MBA preferred, Healthcare/insurance/commercial banking industry experience a plus
Knowledge of industry relevant software used for analysis
Familiarity with SAP
4-year degree in finance or related field or equivalent experience
