Current Need

As the Communications expert and storyteller for McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Health, you will be responsible for the overall development and execution of Communications across all stakeholders of our business, which includes the following: Health Systems, Community Providers, Retail Pharmacies and Biopharma Manufacturers.

This role will be responsible for leading the development of communications, which will enhance our market position, demonstrably improve growth/market share, increase long-term value to existing customers and help position us as thought leaders. You will partner with key stakeholders and leaders across the business and enterprise in the creation of a promotional strategy for U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Health (e.g. overview collateral for our business, Investor Day content development, sales support, conference/event marketing, etc.) and to ensure sound alignment between the business unit and segment objectives. This role regularly interacts with executive levels on matters concerning multiple functional areas, divisions and/or customers.

The candidate must possess strong marketing communications skills, including: ability to succinctly formulate/communicate stories through digital and traditional platforms, communications strategy and plan development, message development, strong writing and copy editing, integrated marketing communications, and superior project management skills.

The Director of Communications functions in a highly matrixed organization and will require expertise in team building and collaboration and the ability to make informed decisions in a timely manner, using strong judgment and extreme attention to detail. The candidate must also possess the skills to work in a fast-paced environment where informed but quick decisions are needed.

Position Description

Create, drive and execute McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Health communications strategy and story, may include audience segmentation, planning, writing and execution.

Support general marketing communications needs to ensure alignment across the organization and enterprise.

Create, organize, coordinate, track and communicate projects, timelines and approvals in conjunction with all necessary stakeholders, legal and compliance

Minimum Requirements

8 years of marketing experience including 5 years managerial experience

Critical Skills

• Excellent communications skills, written and verbal, in storytelling and creating communications materials for both digital and traditional channels.

• Previous experience with influencing as well as partnering with executive leadership to influence and provide strategic guidance.

• Previous experience and an in-depth understanding of regulated industries (e.g healthcare , Oil and Gas, or Financial).

• Strong project management skills.

• Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced marketing environment, constantly striving for excellence.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to work with a variety of customers, varying in seniority and work experiences, including executives, designers, writers, legal, IR, production vendors, other marketing professionals, etc.

• Ability to forge cross-BU relationships, problem solve and negotiate solutions among competing interests.

• Experience providing design guidance/recommendations for presentations and other communication materials

• Advanced user in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word

• Vendor resource management experience

• Budget management experience

Education

4-year degree in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
