Current Need

A Program Manager (PM) and primary Generics (Gx) contact for key customer accounts in the Retail National Accounts (RNA) segment. The PM will be customer-facing and responsible for the day-to-day relationship with the customer. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with the sales VP to recommend and execute on segment and customer-specific sales, inventory, and portfolio management strategies

  • Teaming with various departments across the organization (i.e. Inventory Management, Sales, Marketing, Sourcing, and Finance) to ensure consistent execution of the Gx Program

  • Managing each customer’s GX portfolio, i.e. utilizing customized reporting and systems to ensure portfolio completeness, identifying and resolving issues with inventory or purchasing

  • Managing daily customer pricing, investigate Gx-specific customer inquiries, and ensuring reporting is complete and accurate

  • Proactively bidding new product opportunities and product launches

  • Analyzing data sets and market intelligence, as well as conducting financial analysis to ensure customer pricing is market competitive

  • Monitoring customer financial performance, reviewing and interpreting budgets and forecasts for the segment

Position Description

  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and develop “win-win”Gx solutions that drive McKesson’s financial performance; demonstrate comprehension of Gx economics

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the interaction between Gx systems and other segments to facilitate collaboration across the organization and drive performance within the Gx Program

  • Pursue or create opportunities for continuous learning about different organizational functions; network across various segments within the organization

  • Possess strong knowledge of the Gx Program and pricing, and serve as a subject matter expert to both customers and others within the organization in order create and maintain Gx value

  • Understand generic pricing dynamics; execute on daily customer pricing and create long term pricing initiatives

  • Manage to Gx budgets and customer contractual spend obligations; brainstorm ways to deepen customer relationships

  • Review and create financial forecasts, perform financial analysis over raw data sets, and extract insights to formulate new strategies (i.e. analyze RNA customer sales trends and contribute to developing strategic plans for improved program management or segment growth)

  • Create quarterly customer performance presentations which focus on sales trends, product launches, and other topics relevant to each customer; present to executive level customer contacts

  • Coordinate program management initiatives with Sales VPs, the RNA Pricing team, and the private label Gx team

  • Drive continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities for enhancement and implementing solutions

Minimum Requirements

3 years product management experience

Critical Skills

  • 3 years’ experience Account Management and Sales

  • 3 years’ experience in Financial Analysis, Pricing and/or Strategic Consulting

  • Exceptional relationship building skills with external and internal clients

  • Ability to influence decision makers, strong negotiation skills

  • Strong experience managing competing deadlines and manage multiple client relationships

  • Excellent communication, presentation, written and interpersonal skills

  • Strongexcel skills (including the ability to perform v-lookups, index-matches, and create pivot tables) is required (trainable skill, will train the right person)

A dditional Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong experience working in cross- functional environment

  • Strong analytical capabilities and a solution-oriented approach to problems

  • Financial acumen to evaluate revenue/profit opportunities associated with accounts, experience with data analysis and P&L interpretation

  • Desire to make an impact, drive results, and identify areas for improvement while providing action oriented solutions

  • Self-directed, extremely organized, with strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrates strong diplomatic skills with an ability to consistently think on their feet

  • Possesses grit and determination, and the ability persevere in the face of obstacles

  • Ability to think logically and analytically, problem-solve, build consensus, and lead initiatives

  • Consulting or client facing experience preferred, not required

  • Healthcare and/or Manufacturing experience preferred, not required


MBA preferred or equivalent experience
