McKesson is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant for its Accounting Center of Excellence group.
This position is responsible for various general ledger procedures, including month end close, journal entry and account reconciliation preparation, variance analysis and internal reporting. This role may support group deliverables and compliance with external auditors, internal SOX requirements and internal audit. This role supports multiple business units across multiple locations; strong communication skills will be necessary to support multiple internal customers. This position requires very strong analytical skills, experience working with large ERP software, ability to work with multiple levels of management, and some knowledge of the payroll side of mergers and acquisitions.
5 years accounting experience
5 years in payroll tax accounting focused in USA
SAP or other large ERP experience
Thorough knowledge of Workday & Peoplesoft
Ability to manage and prioritize various responsibilities with competing, short deadlines
Very strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Customer-oriented with strong ability for trouble-shooting and issue resolution
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Outlook, and Word
Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel (v-lookups, pivots, functions)
Thorough knowledge and understanding of US GAAP principles and internal control environments
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Experience working in a team environment
Process improvement exposure preferred
Adaptable to changing environment/technology
4-year degree in accounting or related field
· CPA or on track for CPA highly preferred
