Position Description

Located in Irving, TX (not a remote role) The Sr. Manager, Pharmaceutical Pipeline Intelligence and Market Analytics will be responsible for tracking the US specialty and biosimilar product pipeline activity, and assessing and articulating strategic and business impact on McKesson US Pharma’s specialty portfolio. In addition, they will be responsible for maintaining the most up-to-date McKesson specialty product list and collaborating with cross-functional teams to communicate and operationalize US Pharma specialty strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pharmaceutical product launches in the specialty and biosimilars market segments via clinical, commercial and competitive insights

  • Gather and analyze third-party data sources and develop insights to stay abreast of scientific, competitive and industry dynamics in relevant therapeutic areas (e.g. oncology, Hep C, immunology)

  • Produce regular product pipeline reports based upon third-party databases, earnings calls, manufacturer meetings and FDA activity; liaise with McKesson Specialty Health to align on common view of pipeline and for clinical input in specific therapeutic areas (e.g. oncology)

  • Update and maintain McKesson specialty definition and list of products; act as the functional expert for all internal US Pharma teams and for customers

  • Ensure operational integrity of the specialty list working with Brand Product Management, Master Data, Strategic Pricing, McKesson Connect and Field teams

  • Collaborate with Business Development team to support RFP/ RFI process and sales funnel and with Product Strategy & Analytics to provide market facts and assumptions for fee-for-service negotiation strategy

  • Identify emerging therapeutic areas and develop market landscape perspectives to inform strategy and future services

  • Provide situational analysis support for quarterly business reviews, internal stakeholder education and top-to-top manufacturer interactions

Minimum Requirements

5 years of market research experience

Critical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of specialty / biosimilar therapeutic categories and key products

  • Demonstrated competency with late-stage pharmaceutical pipeline analysis

  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • PharmD, Master’s degree in Life Sciences, or MBA

  • Strong scientific and commercial acumen and understanding of specialty therapeutic areas

  • Healthcare industry, management consulting and / or competitive intelligence experience a plus

  • Ability to translate scientific and clinical insights into commercial implications for product uptake and competitive implications

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to work as an effective team player and collaborate across functions and businesses

Education

MBA preferred in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
