Provides sourcing and category management for all Corporate Business Process Outsourcing. McKesson already has many back-office business processes outsourced, and this position will both manage the sourcing related to those engagements and be heavily involved in managing those relationships going forward. In addition, we are looking to increase our efficiency and effectiveness as a company by further developing and investing in outsourced relationships for our back-office functions. This position will work with the Corporate departments to both identify opportunities to do this, and to manage the sourcing process to select those suppliers.
This position will need to develop a thorough knowledge of company operations, policies, and procedures. Handles details of a highly confidential and critical nature. Collects, prepares, and presents information for use in discussions/meetings of executive staff and outside individuals. Manages relationships across multiple levels of the organization across the company. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Responsible for utilizing analysis and data to make informed decisions. Analyzes problems, determines approach, compiles and analyzes data and prepares reports/ recommendations. Coordinates activities between departments and outside parties. Work is generally of a critical or confidential nature. Assignments may be found in various functional areas.
Responsible for overseeing activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, components, and equipment. Directs the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives. Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount. May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts. Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities. Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major subcontracts. Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system.
5 years purchasing experience including 2 years management experience
8 years advanced business process outsourcing orBPO expertise.
8 years of strategic sourcing and categorymanagement expertise.
Strong written and oral communication experiencewriting agreements and creating SLA’s.
Global/International negotiating contracts experience.
Track record of performance.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of purchasing policies, practices and systems, and demonstrates leadership skills
4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
