Position Description

Responsible for providing administrative support for the human resources function including the areas of compensation/benefits, employment, employee relations and training. Maintains employee files and personnel records, processes change of status forms, compiles personnel statistics and provides information to employees on matters pertaining to personnel forms and records. May prepare special reports, such as insurance, COBRA, OSHA, manpower, etc. May screen, evaluate, and conduct reference checks on candidates, maintain requisition and advertising logs, administer benefit programs, prepare insurance reports summarizing claims and coverage, and conduct employee orientation to inform new employees of company benefits programs.

Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel. Requires human resources experience, reading, writing, arithmetic, good clerical and communications skills. Completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent is preferred.

Minimum Requirements

4 years benefits, HR, or related experience

Critical Skills

  • Intermediate to Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience coaching and providing assistance with escalated matters and conflict resolution

  • Proven successful in managing a full workload with outstanding prioritization and time management

  • Experience providing HR support to a large workforce

  • Experience with Kronos, Workday and Visier strongly preferred

  • Ability to work Second Shift on occasion to provide support to the distribution center associates

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • 2 or 4 year degree preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to human resources issues preferred

  • Employee relations and leadership skill providing the highest level of integrity needed
