Current Need:

McKesson are looking for a senior user experience (UX) designer to join their growing software development team in Cork. You will work on greenfield projects within a flexible team with a start-up feel but with the financial backing of a successful corporation. You will have the ability to shape the products and make a real impact in the lives of others by creating the next generation of cyber protection and cognitive software automation products, utilising data sensing, transformation, machine intelligence and user interface technologies. Responsibilities:

As the sole UX designer, you will apply your prior experience and wide breadth of knowledge to drive UX design through each stage of production, achieving product goals through the design and implementation of intuitive user experiences.

  • Translate business requirements intoelegant, innovative and intuitive, mobile-responsive web solutions whilebalancing user needs with business goals and technological constraints

  • Create clean, organised, and readabledocumentation and marketing material to convey application design/functionalityto both developers and business owners

  • Develop and maintain wireframes,prototypes, persona mapping, specification and other design documents tocommunicate and conceptualise design ideas

  • Production of persona mapping, user flows,wireframes, prototypes, user interface specifications and graphic designelements

  • Assessment of existing and potentialmarkets and the creation of product promotional and advertising material

  • Drive the development and communication ofdesign guidelines, patterns, and libraries ensuring graphic design consistencyacross all products within the portfolio

Requirements:

  • Passionate about latest trends ininteractive experiences across a variety of mediums with a strong desire forinnovation

  • Portfolio that demonstrates your ability toturn ideas into a strong and unique creative vision and shows your experiencewith:

  • User interface design, user-centred designand human factors

  • Sound project thinking through navigation,user follows, interaction design and information architecture

  • Typography, colour, imagery andwell-crafted design approaches

  • Persona mapping, wireframes andprototyping, usability testing and graphic design elements

    Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in graphic design, computer science,cognitive psychology, human computer interaction, digital media design, finearts or equivalent experience

  • 4 years’ experience as a user experiencedesigner, interaction designer, graphic designer, art/creative director orsimilar role

  • Expert knowledge of user-centred design andbest practices

  • Solid understanding of user experiencedesign, usability, information architecture and web technologies

  • Experience with any or all of the followingis an advantage:

  • Design/prototyping tools such as Axure,Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Responsive design elements

  • Principals of service design

  • Website accessibility compliance

  • Strong interaction-design and visual-designprinciples
