This role’s primary responsibility is to provide data support to various business units that will improve operational efficiencies, improve customer retention with profitability analysis, trending and general reporting. The business analyst will work within the analytics team to develop and implement reporting collateral that supports the business strategy of increasing profitability with performance. It requires industry knowledge of contracting and claim processing terms, coupled with technical analytical skills.
Project Support - Develop detailed analysis to support multiple projects, recommend innovative potential business solutions and ensure successful implementations.
Customer Reporting and Analysis - Develop a suite of reports that educate the customer on profitability, clinical performance status and other business needs. Responsible for initiating the practices that select the methods and criteria to produce the best results. Coordinate with various business units on delivery and implementation.
Business Unit Analysis and Reporting Support – Identify and track key metrics that measure departmental KPIs and performance. Continual refinement of reporting support to keep up with changing departmental needs. Includes but is not limited to network and store level contracting and reimbursement analyses, clinical performance, and operational efficiency
Data Integrity -. Own the process of maintaining and validating data sources, working with IT to build the needed infrastructure, and auditing the resulting tables to ensure continued data integrity
Ad-hoc Analysis – Support escalated issues with research and data analysis. Requires in-depth understanding of data elements and how they relate to claims processing. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert.
8 years accounting, finance, finance analytics or similar experience
3 years of proven hands-on experience with Excel and SQL
3 years working with large data sets
Strong communication skills, including presenting recommendations
Strong analytical skills researching issues, analyze data anomalies and root causes
Strong customer centric experience
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Healthcare industry experience
Statistical background preferred
Project Management experience
MBA preferred in finance or related field or equivalent experience
