Current Need

AccessHealth, McKesson’s Pharmacy Services Administration Organization (PSAO), is seeking a Director of Strategy and Business Development who will work with the broader AccessHealth leadership and McKesson strategy team members to develop and implement the business unit’s growth strategy.

AccessHealth supports the success of the independent, small chain and mid-sized chain retail pharmacy segments with managed care tools and solutions such as third party contracting, payment and reimbursements, reporting, and customer service.

Position Description

The Director of Strategy and Business Development for AccessHealth will be part of the current team that is responsible for strategy development and identifying and evaluating new business opportunities. In this role, this individual will support business unit-level strategic decision making by conducting projects related to market analysis, emerging industry trends, portfolio analysis, and identification of strategic needs as it relates to the pursuit of new business endeavors. This role will provide leadership in the design, development and implementation of strategic initiatives that advance AccessHealth’s objective to achieve better business health for our pharmacy customers and PBM and payor partners.

The Director of Strategy and Business Development must have a strong track record of opportunity assessment, business case development, project planning, execution, and collaboration across cross-functional groups. This role will report directly to the Vice President of AccessHealth Strategy and Business Development.

Minimum Requirements

5 years business development experience and 2 years managerial experience

Critical Skills

  • Highly prefer candidates from management consulting with experience in managing complex healthcare based projects or transactions, or candidates from a healthcare organization with a successful track record in corporate development or strategy roles. Emphasis on PBM and payor experience, and/or retail pharmacy experience.

  • Experience in Project Manage, Manage Teams and Lead without authority

  • Strategic Thinking : evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities

  • Analytical Rigor : ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations

  • Financial Acumen : understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning, budgeting and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning to maximize shareholder value

  • Communications skills : ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively

Additional Skills

  • Healthcare Knowledge : knowledge of stakeholders, trends, economic drivers and policy across healthcare

Education

4-year degree in Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent experience
