Field Service 100% local travel to include Queens. Day travel only, no over night travel.

Position Description

McKesson Patient Assistance Services is a recovery service that secures free medications by utilizing manufacturer patient-assistance programs (PAPs). It helps hospital pharmacies replace drugs dispensed or administered to low-income, uninsured and under-insured patients. In addition, Patient Assistance Services coordinates free medical device replacements for many of the implantable devices used during the care of indigent patients. The program also helps coordinate co-pay assistance for many of the high-cost drugs that seem unaffordable for insured patients.

The purpose of the Field Services Rep position is to assist the Drug Replacement Coordinators in administering the patient assistance program for a large customer’s health system and/or multiple remote customers. Field Services Representatives are responsible to travel onsite and obtain required information needed to complete PAP enrolment forms.

Works in a fast paced, high volume environment.

The Field Services Rep is expected to set his/her own schedule based on the needs of each customer and to work autonomously in a virtual environment. They are expected to make daily, complex, on-the-spot decisions related to changing customer priorities and work processes.

The Field Services Rep works with professional medical personnel (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy buyers, patient financial advocates) daily to gather required information. Maintains accurate records, utilizing McKesson proprietary software.

Minimum Requirements

1 years customer service experience

Critical Skills

Day travel up to 100% in the New York Burroughs to include Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens

Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task a variety of work activities.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills in order to communicate in a professional manner and build long-term customer relationships.

Reading, writing, arithmetic, good communication skills, PC and word-processing skills.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

Healthcare experience preferred but not necessary

Knowledge of Medicaid, 3rd party insurance and other external foundations or funding programs for reimbursements.

Must maintain HIPAA compliance, protect PHI and adhere to ICARE standards in all interactions.
