Job Summary

Develop tools, best practice guidelines and programs to support the professional practice needs of our independently-owned pharmacies.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Create expanded scope tools and programs for pharmacists to better engage with patients.Topics include but are not limited to Influenza, Travel Health, Diabetes, Arthritis, Minor Ailments and legislative change supports.

  • Assist in maintaining Guardian, IDA, The Medicine Shoppe and Remedy’sRx professional programs, including training of member pharmacy staff and program monitoring.

General Responsibilities

  • Support of professional program initiatives of Guardian, IDA, The Medicine Shoppe, Proxim and Remedy’sRx banner groups.

  • Pharmacy practice research, including product and service comparisons, legislative research, pharmacist networking.

Position Requirements

  • Pharmacy Student or Pharmacy Intern* of a CCAPP- or ACPE-accredited pharmacy school

  • Project development and management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated.

  • Proficiency in standard communication software (Microsoft Office).

  • Interest in designing expanded scope programs and tools for community pharmacists to better engage with patients.

  • Community pharmacy experience, with an interest in pharmacy ownership an asset.

  • Experience in developing training or documentation projects an asset.

*Note to Pharmacy Interns: This is a non-direct patient care setting. OCP SPT Internships and Preceptors are not available in this corporate office setting. Only Interns who do not have OCP Internship requirements may apply for this termed position. As well, while this role does provide Pharmacy Interns with an interesting placement, it does not extend into a Pharmacist placement.
