Job Summary

Reporting to Director, Professional Services, Manager, Specialty- Pharmacy Services, is responsible for understanding the specialty market in different provinces and be the subject matter expert in providing banner members with unique professional programs and tools to help patient acquisition and physician outreach in targeted therapeutic areas.

This role will require the individual to have a strong understanding of the pharmacy landscape across the country and provincial legislations and reimbursement models of specialty prescriptions. It will require the individual to partner with healthcare providers/ physician network in different markets promote banner members providing specialty care, including doctor detailing of the specialty care offerings by the banner member. This individual will need to have a strong understanding of the third party payers and opportunities for a preferred provider network.

Responsibilities include researching and evaluating business opportunities, developing strategies and market entry plans on behalf of banner members.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Utilizing customer focused selling skills, and developing presentations in support of new business opportunities for banner members.

  • Meet established targets for both retention of business as well new business growth

  • Engaging and managing service solution projects externally with pharmaceutical manufacturers, and internally with the management team including Strategy team.

  • Coordinating necessary services to meet the objectives of the client

  • Collaborating with the Marketing / Business Development team including strengthening the strategy, developing tools, and metrics.

  • Develop and expand the specialty healthcare provider network and work in collaboration with the Specialty group and their physician network

  • Build relationships with vendors, business partners, governments, third parties, professional associations, pharmacy regulatory bodies and other key industry stakeholders to aid in promoting, developing and supporting McKesson Canada’s retail banners’ offering as it relates to Specialty programs.

  • Create measurement tools to measure/ monitor success of programs.

Key Requirements

  • University degree with a concentration in Health Sciences.

  • Minimum of 5 years of senior sales experience especially inSpecialty pharmacywith an excellent understanding of retail pharmacy business in Canada

  • Develop specialty program and build training content.

  • Deliver training to key audience.

  • Able to liaise with other healthcare providers to help drive the specialty business

  • Strong pharmacy businessacumen and have a good understanding of the independent pharmacy model.

  • Experience with setting strategy and tacticalexecution

  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills

  • Strong analytical and researchskills

  • Well-refinedinterpersonalskills,abletoworkeffectivelyinacross-functionalenvironment

  • Superior communication skills both verbal andwritten

  • Travel will berequired
