The Technical Product Specialist will manage the network service for the electronic transport of drug reimbursement claims and related value-added services, to ensure quality, improvements, stability, optimization and profitability.
The Technical Product Specialist will be the key central expert for sales and operations and ensure that the solution is tuned to be responsive to customer needs.
Section A – Specific Responsibilities
Be the primary McKesson Canada contact with all third parties (Adjudicators, Payors, Pharmacy system Providers, Pre/Post service providers, External Switch services)
Lead the effort to identify and design new pre/post services based on customers’ business requirements
Plan, manage, and execute validation/testing of all pre/post services
Manage and optimize the network service for the electronic transport of drug reimbursement claims
Propose changes to increase the usage
Propose changes to improve the current process
Monitor system performance and quality
Suggest improvements and optimizations to the interfaces with other McKesson Canada systems, e.g. back office systems, client-facing systems.
Manage and fix transactions issues (Claims)
Manage multiple projects / medium to very complex projects on time, including cross-functional projects, on budget and according to specifications.
Write detailed descriptions, analyze users’ needs and system functionality and steps required to develop enhancements or fixes taking into account best-practice methods and the McKesson Canada methodology.
Ensure business alignment of IT development initiatives. Interact with customers, users and third parties as appropriate. Propose creative solutions to user problems identified through enhancements, projects or tickets.
Create and document the test strategy and plan for all parts of the system. Create test cases, participate in and manage the actual testing, and document the test results.
Assist in the execution of the transition including the implementation plan
Share his/her business, technical and application knowledge with other members of the team
Run ad-hoc queries against SQLServer database.

Section C – Position Requirements
Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent (or equivalent experience).
Thorough understanding of IT and software concepts, software design development and modeling
Excellent knowledge of development methodologies (RUP, UML, Agile …)
Strong Knowledge and experience of business concepts and requirements
Good analytical capacity
Ability to work in a team or autonomously
Strong database knowledge; able to create queries & procedures
Above average communication skills with good written and oral skills in English ; French a significant asset
Organized, methodical with rigorous work approach
Responsible, logical and detail oriented
Ability to work efficiently under pressure
Ability to work in crisis situations and in multi-task mode
Good understanding of project management, its practices, techniques, and tools. (MS Project is a strong asset)
Good Knowledge of pharmacy retail systems (e.g. PharmaClik Rx Nexxsys, Kroll…)
Knowledge of pharmacy industry, products
Minimum of 3 years with a strong knowledge of Pharmacy claims processing standard (CPhA3, HL7, NCPDP)
Minimum of 10 years In Information technology
Minimum of 5 years as System Analyst or other intermediate pharmacy technology role
