The Training Specialist role is the technical trainer for pharmacy and point of sale technology. Using effective facilitation skills, this position focuses on training customers and internal employees on our different technology solutions. This position is responsible for developing and delivering training for new products and software versions as well as maintaining programs as new products or functionality is added.
Section A – Specific Responsibilities
Deliver training programs in both a formal (i.e. classroom/webinar) or informal (i.e. onsite/phone) setting; to new and existing customers on fundamental and advanced features.
Conducting on-site training sessions for new customers across Canada (except for Quebec) at approximately 30 sites per year.
Develop curriculum and training programs utilizing Adult Learning principles and established documentation standards.
Develop and deliver seminars for IDA/Guardian, Medicine Shoppe and Remedy’s Rx tradeshows.
Develop curriculum and deliver seminars for new versions of the software and/or provincial differences.
Gather customer’s needs and conduct performance assessments to determine the gaps between current and desirable learner skill levels.
Provide 1st level system support for existing customers.
Provide Sales team with leads in training, upgrades, added functionality and/or new hardware.
Develop and conduct evaluations on the effectiveness of training programs and learning outcomes and apply recommendations for improvement.
Develop, update and distribute training curriculum, guides, job aids and other written materials to customers and internal teams.
Train new and existing internal staff such as Software Developers, Customer Care agents and Field Service Technicians.
Participate in the evaluation of new products or new functionalities to existing products.
Ensure the learning environment and resources support learner's needs.
Participate on cross-functional teams on the development and testing of new features.
Participate in meetings/conference calls as required.
Perform other duties as assigned to support McKesson Canada.

Ensure to respect and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Ensure to sustain job performance standards and objectives set through the progress and appraisal guidelines.
3 years’ experience in a retail Pharmacy environment using pharmacy and/or POS software.
University degree with minimum 2 years of experience in training and technical documentation field.
Preferred experience using the PharmaClik Rx (Nexxsys) pharmacy software and/or PharmaClik POS (Autostar).
Requires 75% travel to various pharmacy locations.
Must be flexible as hours may include overtime, weekend or evening work.
Valid provincial driver's license.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Superior organization, time management and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong ability to understand difficult technology and simplify it for customers.
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications and web conferencing tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and WebEx).
