Position Description

This individual will be responsible for organizing, modifying, and supporting the company’s information systems in alignment with the goals of the facility and corporate policies; while providing the highest possible service to business partners. Inspire clear and consistent communication to assist management and fellow employees. The successful candidate will exhibit a rounded profile including strong leadership, deep IT subject matter knowledge, business sense, capacity to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, collaboration, talent to deal with complex situations, and ability to deliver win-win solutions that successfully balance multiple conflicting requirements.

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate system changes and enhancements with HVS Customer Support

  • Execute planned work assignments within established timeframes

  • Performs troubleshooting to diagnose and correct problems

  • Develops technical knowledge of proprietary and shelf software systems to become a subject matter expert

  • Installs, maintains, and configures; servers, workstations, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller) and printers

  • May be presented with opportunities for .Net application development

  • Works with associated vendors to operate, maintain, and support software/hardware systems

  • Adherence and enforcement of policies, procedures/SOPs and Safety guidelines

  • Communicate with peers and supervisors about operational concerns and assist in resolving these concerns

  • Procures quotes/items needed to carry out work assignments

  • Provide peer support and mentoring to fellow employees

  • Adhere to and promote the company’s ICARE Principles

  • Maintain confidentiality when necessary

  • Ability to work independently and in small teams

Minimum Requirements

4 years experience in Windows, Mainframe or UNIX systems administration

Critical Skills

  • 3 years or more providing computer systems support in a manufacturing or production setting

  • 2-3 years expeirnce C programming language

  • 2-3 years expreince in SQL including writing complex queries

  • Must have proficiency with Windows XP/Windows 7/Windows Server operating systems

  • Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

  • Must be able to demonstrate problem solving through root cause analysis and proper documentation

  • Must be customer service driven and have the capability to work with outside resources directly and via telephone

  • Must have familiarity with networking equipment

  • Highly motivated/Detail oriented

  • Must meet established attendance requirements

  • Knowledge of all production functions

Must be able to work Sunday - Thursday 8am - 3pm and overtime or alternate shifts as the business requires.

Education

Associates Degree in an Information Technology Field or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements

  • Large percent of time performing work in front of computer screen is required

  • Standing and walking frequently throughout shift

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, crouch or crawl

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs.
