Job Summary

Reporting to the Operations supervisor, the Calibration and Operations Technician is responsible for Calibration and Logistics duties at McKesson Canada Automation. The incumbent ensures all related activities are performed with the highest standards of quality while respecting timelines set by Management.

This position requires compliance with company policies such as yearly performance evaluations, expense reporting, time sheets and all policies set forth by the Company. Works closely with adjacent departments and internal/external partners and suppliers to ensure operational excellence to support the technology solutions implemented at retail and institutional customers across Canada.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintains all aspect of the required operations in the calibration department, everything related to inventory, repairs and recalibration of any units. Update and complete all the changes when required in the system.

  • Keep the drug database up to date and take the proper actions to resolve any outdated information.

  • Maintains service excellence by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements.

  • Promotes a culture of acting on fact and doing it right the first time, with the highest standards of quality.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Physical picking and packing of orders for APS equipment and consumables.

  • Use of automated and manual shipping systems (i.e. UPS, Purolator, Canada post).

  • Organize and prepare equipment for transportation to customer or showcase sites.

  • Make transportation arrangements to ensure equipment arrives on time and is delivered by the safest and most economical method.

  • Ensure related shipping and receiving paperwork are appropriately completed, processed through ERP system and forwarded to Accounting when applicable.

  • Provide occasional support to APS Customer Service Representatives by tracking and tracing shipments and following up on orders when requested (phone and e-mail support).

  • Provide occasional support to Inventory Control by monitoring and advising on inventory levels

  • Work hours may vary depending on customer and business needs

Section C – Key Requirements

  • College degree

  • 5-7 years experience within quality control or service domains, experience with cGMP is an asset

  • Computer literate and intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel, Word.

  • Demonstrates interest in technology and innovation.

  • Shows organized work and drives execution excellence

  • Able to work independently with little supervision

  • Capability to work through interdepartmental channel to achieve department goals, and to resolve internal and external customer issues in a timely manner.

  • Ability to communicate with individuals from varied backgrounds.

  • Able to work with micrometer instrument and cutting tools.

  • Must be bilingual with good oral and written communication skills; able to communicate with individuals from varied backgrounds.
