Job Summary

The Jira Administrator will report to the manager Middleware/Release Management and will work closely with the director of applications operations for our client in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry. You will be responsible for both upkeep and new development configuration (add ons, permissions, and notifications) as well as work with internal stakeholders to further optimize, configure, and implement new Jira functionality.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities

Certain responsibilities associated with this role are included in Section B. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Jira administration, configuration, and customization.

  • Implement selected solutions using Jira native functionality (modify workflows, notifications, permissions, issue types)

  • Provide technical/configuration support on JIRA Software, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence, Jira Portfolio, Tempo, BitBucket, Zephire

  • Implement and continue refining development life cycle best practices

  • Evaluate and promote new Jira/Confluence add-on and new features.

  • Be part of Agile implementation process

Section B – Position Requirements


  • 5-7 years of overall professional experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience working with JIRA administration.

  • Excellent understanding of Agile development methodology

Ability to:

  • Ability to understand customer needs in order to provide excellent service.

  • Ability to establish, build and maintain healthy working relationships.

  • Ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Good analytical and problem resolution skills


  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
