The Manager, Analytics and Insights in Retail Pharmacy Insights role reports to the Director of Patient Business Intelligence and Patient Experience and is part of the Marketing shared service within the Retail Banner Group. He or she acts as a strategic thought partner, uncovering and integrating the patient voices into actionable guidance to the commercial organization. S/he will identify and leverage a variety of data sources to generate patient insights, and help executives and internal teams make informed strategic decisions in optimizing programs, products and services available to patients across McKesson network of pharmacies. Working closely with the retail banners in Quebec and ROC to interpret their needs and objectives and determine the best analytical approach.
Delivering Patient Insights and Strategies
Act as the ‘subject matter expert’ in marketing analytics for the Retail Banner Group
Work collaboratively with team and internal business partners to clearly define analysis / campaign scope, objectives, targeting & measurement plan for marketing initiatives
Develop, implement and leverage patient profiling and segmentations for customers of our retail pharmacy banner brands.
Develop and interpret analytical methods (from BI reporting to advanced modeling) in support of retail business objectives including, but not limited to: patient marketing initiatives (customer acquisition, retention, lifetime value), marketing campaign effectiveness, customer loyalty and business profitability for both McKesson banners and franchisees.
Measure and monitor the effectiveness of patient marketing initiatives, programs, and channels and their impact on customer loyalty, and business profitability for both McKesson banners and franchisees.
Extract, cleanse and modify raw data from data warehouse, conduct customer analysis or campaign measurement to identify opportunities for clients
Automate process using SAS/SQL and/or make suggestions to tool / process improvement to drive operational efficiency
Create case studies to demonstrate how analytics drive revenue, profit or efficiencies for McKesson and our banners
Map customer journeys and touchpoints and identify opportunities to enhance patient experiences and generate incremental revenues.

Partner with key internal stakeholders to understand their strategic priorities;
Provide insights proactively and on demand;
Create and lead the process that will govern the development of new programs, services and offerings. Contribute to the strategic planning process by providing input into the identification, evaluation of opportunities as well as the selection of business initiatives.
Inform the development of new pharmacy services (namely, drive new scripts), brand / marketing strategies, and other business development and strategic initiatives.
Challenge the status quo in order for the business to make the right decisions.
Deriving Insights & Presenting Results
Create insightful executive reports and presentations that clearly and succinctly highlight actionable insights combined with business implications / strategic and tactical options.
Present analysis results and recommendations in business language in different forums/meetings
Expand and leverage patient, pharmacy and market knowledge;
Provide strategic insights and recommendations to partners and senior leadership.
Conducting Market and competitive analyses
Develop, plan and execute retail pharmacy and patient market research and analyses plans to support development of strategies and initiatives;
Conduct or request analyses and provide recommendations from results of research insights/learnings.
Act as industry expert on patient research, bringing innovation to the team.

Technical Skills - experience with Excel, Access, SAS, SQL, R, relational databases, data warehouses, analytics systems (e.g. Birst); strong analytical & data mining skills; intermediate predictive modeling / machine learning experience; experience with both qualitative and quantitative consumer research techniques 5 years of bio/pharmaceutical experience or retail in a strategic marketing or consulting role
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in any of the following (or combination of): Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business
Experience with strategic market research and analytics, for brand positioning, patient segmentation and strategies, Product development, etc.
Experience designing and developing business strategies (i.e. stage gate or similar approach).
Strong strategic planning, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Experience managing and coaching 1-2 direct reports
Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal, consultative and influencing skills
Strong written and oral communication skills; must be adept at presenting and making recommendations to senior management
Bilingual French / English (Quebec)
Ability to travel as needed (approximately 25%)
