Job summary

The Uniprix and Proxim Local Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning and executing local marketing activities: strategic planning, member plan and tool development, deployments and results analyses. Leading a team of specialists and coordinators, the incumbent will be in charge of communicating with the various business partners.

Tasked with providing local support to promote the business of branches of both banners, he or she will implement the necessary processes and tools to measure the results of the proposed plans. The Uniprix and Proxim Local Marketing Manager will help develop and execute visual platforms and communication tools for members.

Section A – Specific responsibilities

  • Develop the annual local marketing plan, ensuring compliance with brand image and positioning as well as meeting financial goals.

  • Track monthly budgets and the financial planning of your department.

  • Analyze the business market of Uniprix and Proxim banners and the competition.

  • Advise members and support their local marketing requests.

  • Develop and use performance analysis tools for sales and activities related to local marketing offensives.

  • Negotiate and follow up on agreements with vendors and subcontractors.

  • Develop a motivating and collaborative environment within the team; support, coach and encourage continuous learning.

Section B – Key responsibilities

Coaching and support for members

  • Advise banner members and determine local advertising and sponsorship strategies.

  • Oversee the production and delivery of local marketing projects.

  • Organize, in collaboration with retail operations departments, some opening or inauguration activities in accordance with members’ needs.

Brand image and compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the brand’s graphic standards and advertising concepts for any document, tool or program developed for members.

  • Oversee and approve the final ad layouts developed for members.

  • Ensure that all strategies, visual platforms and tools developed for members comply with the laws governing our industry.

Team management

  • Hire, develop, assess and mobilize your team.

  • Lead department meetings.

  • Coach a team of project coordinators and specialists, developing strategies to ensure the delivery of quality service.

Department, budget and material resource management

  • Ensure good communication with the various internal and external partners.

  • Help develop a business plan for your department. Take the necessary steps to meet objectives.

  • Build and maintain relationships with members and various industry stakeholders to ensure exceptional service and communication.

  • Handle and follow up on department complaints, conflicts and problems and take the necessary steps to resolve them.

  • Ensure company policies are observed.

Section C – Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business management and marketing or the equivalent

  • At least 10 years of marketing experience in a retail environment

  • At least 5 years of experience in team management

  • Bilingual: French and English, written and spoken

  • Strong communication, teamwork and team management skills

  • Business acumen

  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at the same time

  • Capable of recommending quality, creative and innovative solutions

  • Able to write in French and English

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
