Reporting to the Senior Manager, Retail Manufacturer Solutions (RMS), the Manufacturer Program Manager is responsible for business development, service agreement & program management. Our manufacturer customers are looking to engage with patients and community pharmacists, in different ways, to support and raise awareness of their products. Often, programs have a clinical or patient care related component. The candidate will be expected to seek out, negotiate and secure new business. The Program Manager will also design programs in close collaboration with our customers. These programs need to be executed efficiently and meet key performance indicators in accordance to established specifications and agreements. The incumbent will play a strategic role in attaining and surpassing team objectives, which include driving revenues, meet budgets, and capitalize on strategic opportunities. The candidate will need to work collaboratively with other departments and business units within McKesson to help design and execute the programs. Manufacturer relationships will need to be built and nurtured. Innovation and market research are critical to be successful in this role.
Section A – Specific Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities generally include but are not limited to:
Lead business development activities with manufacturers. Promote and sale our service offering; build and adapt sales tool.
Design custom manufacturer programs that help promote and raise awareness of our customer’s products and often with the goal of improving therapy adherence. Propose ideas and commercial solutions that are adapted to the targeted audience (patients, pharmacists, other HPs and consumers).
Negotiate contracts and liaise with legal counsel.
Prepare internal and customer meetings and strategic business reviews.
Perform market research to learn latest industry and product trends, best practices and benchmarking. Stay updated on regulations and new innovations related to the community pharmacy practice.
Act as the primary business point of contact for manufacturers looking to engage with the RMS team. Work and build relationships with Brand Managers, Brand Directors, procurement professionals, etc.
Liaise with Senior Manager to ensure that specifications and business requirements for the manufacturer programs are clearly established, executed and reported.
Support Senior Manager on any required conflict resolution, mediation and risk management.
Ensure that timelines are established, agreed to up front, and ultimately met.
Ensure that programs/services are monitored and achieve key performance indicators as established with the customers.
Seek to continuously improve programs through innovation.
Develop program management objectives and plans, set targets and monitor each project.
Adapt solutions in response to client evolving commercial challenges and/or operating processes.
Collaborate with our operations team and other stakeholders as required to ensure strong implementation, execution and follow up on all manufacturer projects.
Own and explain the on-going status of manufacturers programs and services through the preparation of regular management reports.
Develop customer tools, setup and develop management plans for each assigned project.
Assist the Senior Manager in preparing quarterly and other business review meetings.
Section B – General Responsibilities
Maintain relevant business knowledge of pharmaceutical market and stay well-informed of market and industry trends and conditions.
Identify business development or expanded service opportunities within existing client base including our EVOLVE solution
Prepare and maintain the programs\EVOLVE information and ensure that programs documentation is up to date.
Acts as McKesson ambassadors of corporate values.
Section C – Position Requirements
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in account management or related account support activity in the pharmaceutical industries;
Minimum of3 to 5 years of experience in working in a patient services, retail pharmacy,pharmacy programs or related health care field including specialty medication;
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate, influence and coach others;
Impeccable written and spoken English and French skills;
Practice professional telephonic communication;
Demonstrate leadership, must be self-directed and be willing and able to take initiative;
Ability to communicate clearly with clients with good listening and questioning skills;
Methodical and very well organized;
Flexibility to travel (occasionally);
Excellent communication skill;
Ability to collaborate with various levels of management and employees Extensive knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio);
Ability to approach issues from a number of perspectives, summarizing data to draw a conclusion, excellent analytical.
