The Portfolio Manager drives business innovation and assist the CIO to lead IT with a sense of opportunity and urgency. He is a key strategic influencer within the business unit management and drive business success, growth and transformation. Proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units. They partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects. Dedicated to a specific business unit and supported by the entire IT organization to deliver the right solution. Serve as the business relationship link between IT and executive level in the business. Act as a lead role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology.
Member of the CIO leadership team and the BU management team.
Section A – Specific Responsibilities
Manage business expectation to deliver high business satisfaction for IT services
Responsible for the development and implementation of solution roadmaps and to ensure successful introductions across the organization and with customers.
Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets for respective business areas.
Develop solution concepts and business cases for new investments.
Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.
Create and analyze relevant information and develop recommendations that they present to senior management.
Act as the key liaison across all functional areas including business units and IT and efficiently manage complaints from the BU.
Create shared vision of their respective solutions and facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms.
Develop and implement sound rationale for portfolio management and managing product phase-in-phase-out plans, proactively anticipating gaps and overlaps within the portfolio.
Reach decision and consensus with other functions as to the timing of solution introductions and withdrawals.
Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximize the positive impact on the organization.
Identify, screen and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet (internal and external) customer needs.
Partner with key staff members to create strategic business plans.
Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources.
Collaborate with all group in IT to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process and prioritization of candidate projects.
Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes, prepare and administer work unit operating budgets; provide recommendations on desired policies and goals and implement new/revised programs according to established guidelines.
Participate in field research in pursuit of new solutions and to evaluate the applicability and usefulness of current solutions.
Participates in the Information Technology Steering Committees.

Provides consultative direction to other functional areas or divisions and across the organization.
Communicates organizational vision/business direction, and identifies functional or divisional linkages; develops strategies for enhancing communication, problem solving teamwork and innovation across functions.
Works with other leaders to develop integrated strategies for improving customer satisfactions and customer service that support overall business goals; works with others to develop integrated strategies for enhancing internal systems and practices to better support customer service.
Has decision-making authority and autonomy to deliver on goals of multiple functions or division; influences others cross-functionally to ensure functional or divisional goals met, and resolves conflicts in an effective manner.
Works with other leaders to develop relationship management strategies for maintaining strong ties with key external contacts; monitor effectiveness of current relationships, and counsels others to take actions, as needed; represents the organization externally.
Ensures that company policies are respected.
Maintains appropriate communications with all levels of the organization.
Section C – Position Requirements
Bachelor degree in Management or a relevant field of study
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience delivering and managing business solutions
Strong business acumen with ability to comprehend how business, technology and operations all intersect, and present compelling value propositions that have clear benefits to Business stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – this position interfaces with senior executives on a regular basis
Effective listening skills and demonstrated ability to develop effective proposals and roadmaps.
Analytical expertise with experience in calculating return on investment for IT.
Excellent portfolio, program and project management skills.
Displays a growth mindset with a collaborative team spirit across the McKesson
