McKesson is hiring an Assistant Controller in Richmond, VA to support McKesson Medical-Surgical's subsidiary, Patient Care Solutions (MPCS).
The Assistant Controller will provide leadership, direction and execution of the accounting and financial reporting requirements. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to interact with and partner with senior leaders and executives including the CFO.
Additionally, the Assistant Controller will be accountable for the integrity and accuracy of all financial information provided by the segment.
Partners with key stakeholders to provide value added operating intelligence and other financial support.
Prepares and manages the internal and external audit requirements for the segment.
develops and manages accounting related company policies, procedures and internal controls for the business
Manage all accountingactivities related to the MPCS business, including general ledgeraccounting, variance analysis and balance sheet account reconciliation.
Direct responsibility forperformance and development of accounting staff to learn, grow and besuccessful in roles.
Partner with the business tounderstand the underlying business operations and processes to augment theintegrity of financial transactions.
Responsible for the financialstatement closing process for MPCS and related reporting requirements.
Provide decision support, financialanalysis, internal control guidance and other assistance to keystakeholders.
Research and integration ofexisting and developing GAAP and statutory reporting to ensure companycompliance with authoritative and regulatory requirements.
Develop and monitor policiesand procedures concerning accounting, including the company internalcontrol structure and Sarbanes-Oxley required testing, and facilitatecompletion of audit requirements.
Management and coordination ofall internal and external audits.
Participate in forecasting andbudgeting activities for the business unit and the accounting department.
Participate in the developmentand implementation of company and department objectives, and align, setand monitor career and incentive performance goals for the Primary Careaccounting team.
Identify process improvementopportunities and lead improvement projects.
Other duties as assigned bymanager.
Responsible for managing the activities of general accounting functions.
Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies.
Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data.
May act as a liaison between the company, government and CPA auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.
- 5 years accounting experience including 2 years managerial experience
Progressive operational accounting experience in a mid- to large-sized location, to include financial close, directing and/or controlling, including variance analysis
Results oriented, analytical with cross-functional project management experience
Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word
CPA or in process of qualifyingfor CPA
Public accounting experience
JD Edwards experience
Healthcare or distributionexperience
- 4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
- CPA, or in process of qualifying for, preferred
General Office Demands
Ability to operate and carry laptop
