Current Need

We are seeking a Business Analyst- Incentive Compensation to join our team in Richmond, VA.

Position Description

The Business Analyst, Incentive Compensation position will take a lead role in the administration of commission and/or bonus programs of the Sales and the Operation Warehouse/Transportation teams. This role will also be critical in driving operational objectives by collecting and understanding requirements, analyzing system capabilities, executing integration and acceptance testing of Incentive Compensation system related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Incentive Application Support

Work with cross-functional project teams in IT, Sales, HR and Finance to implement company strategic initiative projects that impact Incentive Compensation. Responsibilities include capturing and documenting basic business requirements, analyze and interpret collected information and working with a third-party vendor to complete application changes or configuration. In addition, the Business Analyst will provide application support, issue resolution, create or update documentations and manage user testing by accurately and efficiently executing test plans and documenting test results.

Incentive Payment Administration

Oversee the processing of compensation and incentive award payments of Sales and Operations Warehouse/Transportation personnel based on compensation plan and incentive program provisions. Performs activities needed for the development, implementation, communication, training and administration of commissions or incentive programs, plans, policies and quotas. Able to verify and follow through, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of incentive payments as outlined in the plan. Works with Commission Analysts to resolve reconciliation issues and provide Sales team and Distribution Center Leaders support regarding their compensation.

Incentive Payment Analytics

May analyze performance results, prepare incentive expense reports, presentations and recommendations for sales, finance or operations management. May perform cost analysis or modeling of alternative incentive plan design or quota levels.

Minimum Requirements

4 years experience in business analysis, requirements definition, building systems solutions and deployment of business requirements to information systems.

Critical Skills

  • 3 years experience translating business requirements to automated methodology

  • 3 years experience implementing system enhancements

  • 4 years working with relational data models

  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel and Access (formula development)

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to facilitate meetings with strong collaboration skills

  • Confidence to effectively identify and de-escalate issues appropriately

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated time management of multiple projects and work-streams

  • Knowledge of SQL is preferred

  • Collaborative and customer-focused

  • Strong problem solving, analytical ability and critical thinking skills

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
