Current Need

McKesson is hiring a Finance Director, Health Systems to be based in Richmond, VA.

This highly visible role role is the primary FP&A lead for the development and execution of McKesson’s Health Systems strategy, including in-depth evaluation of various commercial and operational factors influencing segment profitability and growth.

To do this, the Director will collaborate with cross-functional business partners to run complex analysis including intangible variance factors, make recommendations, investigate issues & drive resolution while building and maintaining the necessary tools to deliver executive presentations highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare or health systems.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Support and Execution

Coordinate with functional area leaders to guide best practices and exercise independent judgement in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for pricing, account management, GPO/customer alignment, product line expansions (vaccine McKesson Brand, Lab, others), segment penetration and other key initiatives

Executive Reporting and Presentations

Track results vs business case; update financial projections and tie into forecast, annual plan, & long range plan; foster relationships with subject matter experts to translate KPIs into cohesive narrative

Provide management with timely reviews of the financial status and progress of major customers; root cause analysis of exceptions/variances. Work leadership may be provided to indirect analysts by delegating tasks and resolving problems.

Financial Modeling

Conduct thorough, detailed financial analysis / ROI of potential business opportunities

Collaborate in the preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification for rep compensation modeling

Summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of revenue, expenses, and profit based on past, present, and expected operations.

Gap Analysis

Participate as an FP&A representative in the application of a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating errors / improving processes in the customer life-cycle, including order entry, contract compliance, billing/collections, and shipping

General Job Family Position Description

Responsible for managing, preparing, administering, and directing the control of the budget.Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control. Monitors division and department adherence to approved budget.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years finance or accounting experience including 2 years managerial experience

Critical Skills

  • Extensive FP&A experience, to include budgeting,forecasting, annual plan, long-range plan, NPV of investments, and rootcause analysis

  • High level of PowerPoint and Excel proficiency, toinclude ability to create, manipulate and analyze financial models andpresent on findings

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and cross-functionalprojects in a complex service environment

  • Highly analytical with ability to succinctly summarizedata from multiple sources

  • Effective communication, presentation and interpersonalskills with prior experience managing relationships at the highest levelsof the organization

    Preferred Skills

  • Healthcare background strongly preferred

  • Exposure to health systems strongly preferred

  • Abilityto navigate complex and matrixed organization structures

  • Highlymotivated self-starter;

  • Excellentconsultative skills to support various stakeholders

  • Comfortableworking with ambiguity

  • Understanding of core accounting concepts (GAAP)

Education

  • MBA preferred in finance or related field or equivalent experience
