Position Description

The Director, In-Office Dispensing (IOD) Operations is responsible for establishing a plan of operational excellence across the IOD service line within the US Oncology Network. The Director will collaborate with the practice’s pharmacy and management staff, as well as supporting business functions (i.e. revenue cycle, purchasing, clinical, and GPO), to:

· Optimize IOD programs to continue to grow existing $300M net revenue P&L

· Act as a liaison between practices and USON corporate

· Implement standard programs and processes across the Network to maximize clinical and business performance

· Oversee successfully implementation of new IOD programs

· Execute upon the longer term strategic initiatives

In addition, this position will be responsible for participating in US Oncology committees to ensure the IOD service line is represented within the broader business.

Education/Training :

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in related field.

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (preferred but not required)

Business Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with a proven track record of successful leadership in the healthcare field.

  • Operational leadership experience

  • Direct experience with provider customers and customer teams providing services and solutions to meet these customer needs

  • Experience managing profit & loss

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate into operating programs

  • Confidence and communication maturity

  • Strong business and financial acumen, and in depth critical thinking leading to sound business decisions.

  • Strong influencing skills and comfortable in a consensus building environment.

  • Experience in retail pharmacy or in-office dispensing operations and workflow processes

  • A demonstrated track record of improving operational efficiencies.

  • Ability to collaborate in a multi disciplinary environment

  • Basic level of oncology knowledge

  • Specific knowledge of provider operations and how diagnostic services should be addressed

  • Knowledge of oral oncolytic market and emerging trends
