Current Need

The Corporate Communications team supports McKesson’s Executive Committee members’ communications and manages the company’s public relations efforts. In today’s evolving healthcare environment and the ongoing change within McKesson, the need for clear, coordinated and consistent executive communication is more important than ever. Employee feedback from the 2016 Employee Opinion Survey underscored the need for regular executive communication on the company’s strategy and future as well as career development and opportunities.

Because Finance plays a major role in the long-term success of the company, we need a super star to add to our corporate communications team who understands how to create simple, easy-to-understand finance-related communications. This new team member will work closely with senior leaders in the Finance function and through the company to build clear communications strategies tied to business priorities

What makes a successful candidate for this role? You are passionate about clear and human communications, think creatively about how to help Finance professionals communicate their priorities and strategy to the employee population and work well with other teams, including other corporate communication teams, creative services and investor relations. You are a strong writer who can craft communications that clearly communicate complicated business and finance issues – making them digestible and interesting to the general employee population. You know when to inject humor and when to stick to business in your writing. You are results driven and take pride in executing flawlessly on projects small and large. Finally, you are a team player – focusing more on “us” than “me.”

Position Description

  • Finance Communications Support

  • Written communication and distribution

  • Events planning and execution (all-hands meetings)

  • Presentations

  • Collaborates with Corporate Communications colleagues and communicators across McKesson to promote enterprise-wide, finance-related communications (e.g written communication and talking points for verbal presentations)

  • Helps to enforce communications best practices, strategies and processes

  • Quickly evaluates and capitalizes on timely finance communications opportunities

  • Continually incorporates the latest communications channels (e.g email, intranet, yammer, all employee webcasts) and best practices to amplify finance communications

Minimum Requirements

3 years of marketing experience including 1 years managerial experience

Critical Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience working in Communications for a Bank or the Finance department in an enterprise sized company

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills,

  • Strategic thinking/planning, ability to design and deliver focused campaigns

  • Ability to interact with executives and maintain discretion with confidential information

  • Experience writing website content, presentations in a creative manor

Additional Skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Team player (works well with comms colleagues and clients)

  • McKesson knowledge is a plus

  • Familiarity with distribution lists and mass emails

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at one time

Education

4-year degree in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
