Position Description

Draft, review and edit primarily templated documents or from scratch experience allows, the legal agreements that govern the services provided by certain McKesson Business Units to its manufacturer customers with oversight and guidance from supervisor. Effectively and efficiently coordinate business terms with business partners. Able to determine when assistance from supervisor or colleagues is required. Requires an understanding of healthcare and some legal requirements relevant to McKesson’s commercial contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacy customers.

  • Commercial Pharmaceutical Contracts:

  • Identify business and legal issues in commercial pharmaceutical contracts and projects;

  • Draft, review, and revise commercial pharmaceutical contracts under manager or attorney supervision;

  • Communicate with internal business partners on the requirements for and status of contracts;

  • Submit drafts of all documents to supervisor for review

  • Ability to communicate risk or related business/legal concerns to internal stakeholders effectively and professionally;

  • Manage work on multiple deals in fast-paced environment.

  • Undertake contract research projects to identify specified terms or key issues across multiple agreements.

  • Project management skills with the ability to manage simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner;

  • Work closely under supervision of department director or responsible attorney.

Minimum Requirements

5 years paralegal or legal experience

Critical Skills

  • 5 years’ experience drafting, editing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

  • Proficient in Office word processing programs and WorkShare, or equivalent programs.

  • Experience working in pharmaceutical or healthcare environment, ideally with pharmaceutical manufacturer agreements.

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with clients and promote the reputation and integrity of

  • McKesson and the McKesson Law Department.

  • Experience communicating effectively with all levels of management both internal and external to the organization.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Healthcare experience

  • Experience with Contract Life Cycle system, Share Point or Saleforce.com

Education

2 year associates’ degree and paralegal certificate with 5 years related work experience

or

4-year degree and paralegal certification (preferred) with 5 years related work experience
