Current Need

McKesson is hiring for a Field VP Strategic Accounts, Health Systems ( AL, MS, KY & TN)

The Field VP is responsible for growth, strategizing care and support to existing very large, complex, multi-service customers in the health systems market that have a major strategic impact to the success of McKesson Medical Surgical while expanding sales to same customers. Additionally, responsible for developing new customer relationships opportunistically.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain

  • Responsible for the master strategy to provide support to assigned strategic health systems customers and ensure strategy is executed. Execute contract business case and account plans, detailing support and contractual requirements, opportunities, expansion strategies, required resources, decision makers and influencers, and insights into account.

  • Drive the attainment of customer satisfaction indicators such as service level, financial objectives, quality, reliability and alignment and attainment of customer goals.

  • Builds relationships with key leaders and influencers at account headquarters to drive acceptance and use of MMS offerings

  • Applies specialized knowledge to ensure customer satisfaction and retention and expands opportunities for sales growth

Existing Expansion

  • Identify opportunities to grow sales and capitalize on opportunities within existing customer base

  • Work across McKesson business units to identify areas of growth and penetration

  • Gather data on marketing trends, competitive products, and pricing to capitalize on selling opportunities

Position Description

Entails selling the organization¿s products or services to, and maintaining relationships with, a single named existing national account that is of significant strategic importance to the organization. This is a strategic account management position. Accounts are target accounts that have a major strategic impact on the long-term success of the organization. This may be an enterprise-wide position, with incumbents having the skill-set to represent the organization¿s entire range of products to the customer. Maintains contact with account at a high, executive level, focusing on the strategic nature of the relationship. Represents the organization to the customer and the customer to the organization. Responsible for expanding and retaining named accounts while ensuring ongoing customer service. Provides leadership to the sales team focused on the strategic global or national account(s).

Minimum Requirements

  • 9 years of national account sales experience

Critical Skills

  • Significant health systems sales experience and current relationships with health systems in the assigned region

  • Experience selling to C-Suite

  • Must have multiple examples of providing sales support to large, complex customers that integrate a variety of sales solutions

  • Experience creating ROI's and financial business cases

  • Proven track record of relevant successful sales experience with ability to submit a portfolio or brag book

  • Must have strong executive level negotiation skills

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

  • Must be able to work cross-functionally in matrix environment

  • Must be able to travel in assigned region, up to 40%

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of GPO's

  • Experience growing product across multiple levels of a health systems (ex. selling across hospital, non-acute, and home health if in product sales)

Education

  • 4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience

Licensure

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to drive or fly in assigned region

  • Ability to operate and carry a laptop
