The accountant role will be responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information. Must prepare journal entries, maintain various balance sheet and income statement schedules, prepare account reconciliations, and prepare variance analyses. Must perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closings and account analysis and support the manager and senior manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Joint Venture accounting department. The essential skill requirements of this role are being an engaged member of the team, embracing change, and enjoying working in an environment where process improvements are encouraged and an impact can be made. To be successful the candidate needs complete working knowledge of the entire accounting close process, willing to manage large volumes of journal entries and account reconciliations, and good technical ability with Excel. Finally, a successful candidate is able to influence and persuade stakeholders throughout the organization and embraces change throughout all levels of the organization.
1) Participate in all monthly, quarterly and annual close activities, including the preparation and recording of journal entries and related schedules.
2) Research and reconcile balance sheet accounts in a timely manner according to established deadlines.
3) Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
4) Report to management regarding the finances of the establishment.
5) Assist with applicable responsibilities for ensuring compliance with internal controls over financial reporting
5) Assist with special projects
6) Participate in ad hoc analysis
7) Support multiple internal and external customers
8) Identify opportunities for McKesson best practices and manage implementations of solutions for process improvements.
9) Work closely with all McKesson Specialty Health accounting functions
2 years accounting experience
3 - 5 years of full cycle accountingexperience, with responsibilities performing complex accounting tasks.
ProcessManagement – Must have a demonstrated ability to handle large, complexprocesses. Also must have a mindset thatis oriented to constantly drive process improvement.
Provenability to multi-task while meeting various deadlines.
Proven intermediate to advance ability withExcel (Daily use of pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.)
Must be a team player and able to maintain anengaged, positive attitude in an ever-changing environment.
Excellentoral and written communication skills.
Additional Knowledge and Skills:
Perform mathematical calculations with speed andaccuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
Knowledge of Peoplesoft and Blackline helpful
SAP experience helpful
Knowledge of principles and processes for providingcustomer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting qualitystandards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction .
4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
