McKesson Specialty Health has an immediate opportunity for an individual to assume responsibility as a Business Development Director supporting our Clinical Research Services organization. This individual will act as the primary point of contact for customers, managing and nourishing our clinical research relationship; focused on identifying customer expectations and requirements for the successful engagement with our Site Management Organization (SMO) on behalf of our research sites. Drive new business into the research organization through effective positioning of established SMO services and complementary offerings while effectively operationalize sponsors development plans. Leveraging a matrixed selling environment and solutions oriented approach, the Business Development Director is responsible for managing a portfolio of established business as well as the prospecting of new potential clients all in support of organizational performance goals. Ability to manage multiple accounts and develop a “pipeline” of prospects simultaneously is required. Excellent rapport building, collaboration, presentation, financial reporting and selling skills are essential. Experience working successfully in a clinical research environment (within a SMO, CRO, Research Site &/or Sponsor) and a deep understanding of the clinical research setting is desired. Self-starters with a history of consistently meeting or exceeding targets are highly valued candidates.
Responsible to establish, maintain and grow relationship with clinical research customers and for the sale of clinical research services. Duties involve direct one-to-one communication with customer or client. Performs field promotion work and develops new accounts. Educate potential clients on our capabilities, products/services and process for providing clinical research services. Ensure the best application of product or services. Answers all questions concerning products or services and refers questions as necessary. May coordinate subject matter expert support across our business unit as well as other McKesson businesses in effort to ascertain and meet customer needs. Sells to new and present clients.
Primary duties include the identification, development and management of prospective study sponsors/accounts. Primary point of contact for customers at the account level, focused on identifying & securing clinical trial opportunities on behalf of MSH Clinical Research.

Additional Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of business development practices and procedures; Good management, communication and analytical skills.
4-year degree in Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent experience
