The position focuses on the skills of a recent academic graduate in area of computer science, information technology and or a related information science major. The successful individual will perform activities relating to system support or development of existing and planned IT products and processes under the direction of experienced personnel. A new college hire will have the opportunity will rotate between 4 different teams during the 2 year rotational period and at the end have input into the team they will join. During the program the candidate will have an active role on the team performing an IT operational or project related function. This will consist of on the job training to complete tasks within a 3 to 9 month time period contributing to the team goals and objectives for the year. This will develop breadth within the organization allowing candidates to enhance skills learned in their degree program and gain business and product knowledge of the IT systems and services used by MSH and their customers. As part of the team the candidate will have the opportunity to perform a job role that includes project management, business and systems analysis, programming and scripting, data analysis, reporting, and support. Candidates will be challenged to promote efficiency in their job roles
Candidates can expect engagement with senior leadership via periodic status reviews and presentations. They will experience a challenging and rewarding IT experience in a variety of areas. Business skills are developed via corporate sponsored courses as well as coaching and mentoring through the college hire buddy, program sponsor manager and host manager.
While rotating through 4 different teams within I&TS, the college hire will be responsible for performing the following tasks as part of their 2 year rotation:
Develop and apply business and IT processes, contribute to continual process improvement
Gain product experience and technical skills through assigned role and training
As directed, perform and document work activities related to analysis, evaluation, building, testing, or implementing planned IT software solutions and processes
Develop user guides or end user communications
Design, modify, develop, implement and test software individually or as part of a team
Develop software documentation
Assist in requirements gathering, clarification, and documentation
Participate in testing processes, develop and validate user and system requirements
Implement designs within architectural guidelines
Support IT Services Daily health check
Entry level experience in one of the following:
Business information systems
Requirements definition and deployment of business requirements to information systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Passion for technology, academic excellence, business acumen, leadership ability
Able to operate across a diverse workplace culture and workforce
Commitment to and passion for excellence, quality, and patient care
Strong technical and analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Internship experience
4-year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Clinical Informatics or related field
Minimum GPA 3.2
Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) – Normal office environment
