Position Description

McKesson’s Undergraduate Intern program provides you with an opportunity to experience the healthcare industry first-hand. By applying your education to a real-life working environment, you will receive a solid foundation of experience as a McKesson intern. Through project-based work across key business initiatives, as well as hands-on experience, you will be exposed to many aspects of the business and draw upon your varied skill set. Further, by working in tandem with others, you will build a network of support to help you develop professionally. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and growing industry!

Undergraduate Intern Program Details

  • Paid Internship

  • Full-time work for 10 weeks

  • Position will reside in The Woodlands, TX area

  • Each intern is assigned a project-focused opportunityin a specific business unit and works directly with an Intern Coordinatorand Sponsor. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experiencein a dynamic and growing industry!

ROLE SPECIFIC OPPORTUNITY:

Within the McKesson Specialty Health business unit, the provider product management team works with multiple stakeholders to establish and manage the priorities and plans for the portfolio of technology products and services delivered to oncologists and other specialty providers. Specific to this role, through close understanding of company strategic direction, customer needs, market and healthcare trends, and internal and external capabilities, the team coordinates priorities and business rationale for technology investments. The role will focus on establishing customer, strategic, and financial rationale for new technology product investments, and requires the following strengths:

  • Problem solving and analytical skills – ability to tacklenovel problems, identify critical questions and assumptions, and structurefinancial models to drive decision-making

  • Clarity in written and verbal communications – ability toarticulate key points, contribute meaningfully in problem solving andpresentations, and manage in-person or remote discussions with multiplestakeholders

  • Commitment to success – ability to listen and learnfrom colleagues, lead independent work, and partner with businessstakeholders and end users to deliver uncompromising solutions

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program for the duration of the internship to be eligible

  • 3.0 minimum GPA

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor degree program and scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2019 or sooner.

Critical Skills

Willingness to learn, develop, and contribute in a fun, fast-paced environment. Self-starter that brings both interpersonal skills and creative problem solving skills. Emphasis placed on track record of success and growth over directly relevant professional or industry experience.
