Position Description

McKesson Specialty Health (MSH), a major business unit of McKesson Corporation, operates in a fast changing and growing area of healthcare. The Sr. Manager/Manager Accounting Manager will work with the Sr. Manager and Director in executing various technical accounting, reporting and project management responsibilities. Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, writing and presentation skills are essential as our work involves supporting our business partners in interpreting and documenting the appropriate accounting for complex business transactions, implementing new GAAP & accounting process changes, and M&A diligence support and purchase accounting.

Perform GAAP research and drafting of whitepapers for complex business transactions.

Aid in the preparation of quarterly reporting schedules and analysis provided to internal MSH management and Corporate Accounting and Reporting (CAR) and act as a liaison to Corporate Accounting and Reporting.

Assist Sr. Manager and Director with pre-deal due diligence and purchase accounting related to acquisitions, affiliation of new practice customers into the US Oncology Network and new joint ventures.

Support implementation and application of new GAAP pronouncements and existing accounting policies. Lead special projects that improve GAAP reporting and compliance.

On rotational basis, review the accounting practices, including that for legal entity reporting, of our business segments and recommend updates to accounting and reporting practices.

Minimum Requirements

5 years accounting experience including 2 years managerial experience

Critical Skills

• 5 years of technical accounting and financial reporting experience

• Certified Public Accountant

• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly multiple element arrangements and VIE (variable interest entity), and familiarity with accounting research tools

• Legal entity reporting and transfer pricing.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Additional Knowledge & Skills

Excellent collaboration, communication and technical writing skills.

Big 4 experience a plus

Experience in a large volume business or healthcare environment preferred

Experience in accounting for leases, variable interest entities, revenue recognition and/or joint ventures preferred

Education

4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements

General office environment; limited travel (25%)
